Passengers bringing vegetable and fruits into Japan

From November 24 , 2016, Regulatory on bringing vegetables and fruits into Japan is partially revised. Items listed below may need certification before being imported into Japan.

Examples of restricted items

Examples of vegetables and fruits that require certificates※ when imported from the USA and Canada

Lettuce, Arugula, Tomato, Kale, Broccoli, Cabbage, Spinach, etc.

    A phytosanitary certificate issued by the government of the exporting country is required.

Examples of vegetables and fruits that are banned from being imported from the USA and Canada

Cherries, Apple, Pear, Peach, Plum, etc.

Examples of vegetables and fruits that require certificates※ when imported from Germany

Celery, Coriander, Cabbage, Kale, Broccoli, Parsley, etc.
