Passengers arriving from a country that is part of a One Stop Security arrangement (e.g., the U.K.) can proceed to the boarding gate without having to pass through security and immigration. After arrival, proceed to the Departures floor and then to the boarding gate for your ANA flight. (This service may not be available depending on your arrival gate. In this instance, pass through security, follow the signage for Gates B and then proceed to the boarding gate for your ANA flight.)

All other passengers should follow the signage for Gates B, pass through security and then proceed to the boarding gate for their ANA flight.

The establishment of the EU and the tying of the Schengen Agreement have greatly simplified entry and departure procedures within Europe. The Schengen Agreement was first signed in 1985 in Schengen, a small town in Luxembourg, and implemented in 1995.

Once a Japanese national has arrived at one of country, travel within the country is treated as "internal (domestic)" travel. The entry procedures for Japanese nationals are as follows.

Customs inspection for carry-on baggage is made at the first country of arrival and at the final destination for checked-in baggage.

Customs inspection for checked-in baggage is processed in Madrid(Spain).

The departure procedures are taken only in the last Schengen country to be departed from. The customs inspection is made at the destination country.

Example: Madrid(Spain) to Narita(Japan) via Brussels(Belgium)

The departure procedures are taken in Brussels(Belgium), and customs inspection done in Narita(Japan).
