Airport, Lounge and In-Flight Services

ANA has adopted a range of precautionary measures in response to the outbreak of COVID-19 in order to maintain a safe, secure environment for its customers, cabin crew and other employees.

ANA's handling in regard to this outbreak is as follows.

Airport Handling (Updated February 18, 2022)

Due to the expansion of COVID-19, strict entry restrictions and quarantine procedures, there is a possibility that customers will be kept waiting a long time for entry into each country.

We will continue to strive and maintain our airport service, but we would appreciate your understanding in advance for the inconvenience.

  • Temporary Closure and Different Operating Hours for Airport Counters

    Due to the temporary reduction in flights caused by falling passenger demand, some airport counters may either be closed temporarily or operating at different hours.

    For information on airport counters and opening times, please see Airport Guide (Japan Domestic Flights) and ANA International Airport Check-in Counter Opening Times.

  • Using Online Check-In / Self-Service Check-In Machines (International Flights)

    Even when completing check-in online or at a self-service check-in machine, passengers using the following routes must bring the documentation and other items stipulated in the entry conditions for the country in question to a check-in counter for confirmation afterwards. Please go to a staffed check-in counter at the airport to receive your boarding pass.
    However, even for the following routes, passengers who have completed ANA Travel Ready (Advance travel document confirmation) will be able to issue a boarding pass after online check-in, or at a self-service check-in machine.

    • Japan Departures

      Arrivals in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Australia, Malaysia, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Germany(Frankfurt)

    • Japan Arrivals

      Departures from China, South Korea, Hong Kong, the UK, Germany(Frankfurt), Australia(Sydney), the United States(Los Angeles)

  • Temperature Measurement at Security Checkpoints

    The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport issued an order to ask passengers with fever to refrain from using airplanes, to prevent the expansion of COVID-19. We have therefore installed thermographs at certain airports at the request of the ministry to check the body temperature of passengers boarding our aircraft. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

  • For Customers needing special assistance

    Due to the spread of COVID-19, current service provided are subject to change to comply with the applicable laws/ordinances and travel conditions of the relevant country and/or your destination. We will continue to strive and maintain our airport service but would appreciate your understanding in advance for the inconvenience. Please refer to Customers needing special assistance for further details.

  • Customers Traveling with Pets

    • Due the COVID-19 pandemic, we have temporarily suspended the check-in of pets on the following routes in accordance with instructions from the relevant authorities:

      • Flights to Hangzhou and to/from Shenzhen

      • Flights to Guangzhou (from August 1, 2021)

    • Please note that although we have restarted the check-in of pets on flights to Shanghai Pudong Airport as of June 16, 2021, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government instructs that pets stay on board after arrival while staff appointed by the airport quarantine officer disinfect the cargo compartment (including the pet loading space).

    Please make sure to contact the quarantine office, embassy, etc., of the departure and destination countries/regions to find out what documentation is required to import/export your pet and prepare all of this documentation in advance. This may include an export quarantine certificate, health certificate, and import certificate.
    Please also note that you may be unable to check your pet into the cargo compartment on routes other than the above due to the relevant country's laws and quarantine system. For further details, please see For Passengers Traveling with Pets (International Flights).

In-Flight Services (Updated April 1, 2022)

ANA will continue to adopt precautionary measures in response to the outbreak of the Coronavirus in order to maintain a safe, secure environment for its customers, flight/cabin crew and other employees.     • If you wish to view the ANA SKY SHOP magazine, please ask a cabin attendant.

    • We will accept orders on board via the seat monitors.

    • The handling of cash on board will be discontinued. Only credit cards, ANA Gift Cards/ANA Travel Vouchers and ANA Value Vouchers (incl. ANA Diamond Service Domestic/International In-Flight Sales Coupons) can be used for purchases made on board.

  • In-flight Announcements by Cabin Attendants

    By request of the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, we have been making an on-board announcement on some flights asking passengers with symptoms, such as a cough or fever or those taking cough or fever medication, to report to an airport quarantine inspector upon arrival.

  • Carry-on and Check-in of Sanitizers

    Certain anti-bacterial air sanitizers used to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and similar infections are not permitted for air transport.

    Health cards containing information regarding the dedicated online questionnaire created by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and quarantine stations are being distributed on board flights arriving in Japan.
